Mt. Everett Robotics at FCI STEAM Night in Pittsfield
The Mt. Everett Robotics program stole the show at Flying Cloud Institute’s STEAM Challenge Night at the Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield on October 19th. Presenting alongside representatives from General Dynamics and the Berkshire Innovation Center, Mt. Everett students Ben Vella, Sophie DelMasto, and Matt Bennett demonstrated how to fly a drone and drive a robot to pick up and deliver objects. Young students from all over the county attended last night’s event and at some points were 10-15 deep in line waiting for a chance to work with our Mt. Everett students. Many parents took the opportunity to scan QR codes to watch Mt. Everett’s underwater drone and model rockets in action as well.
Mt. Everett was the only school invited to present at that event. Other presenters in addition to BIC and General Dynamics included Berkshire Sterile Manufacturing, Crane Paper, Greenagers, Mass Audubon, Berkshire Natural Resources Council, Hancock Shaker Village, Bottomless Bricks, Bard College at Simon's Rock, and Flying Cloud Institute.
